Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Applyseed collects, why, who processes it for us, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Account data. Your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash).

Startup profile content. What you give us to build your profile: answers you type, text you paste, and files you upload (for example a pitch deck or notes). Also the answers we draft from it, and the applications you track.

Billing data. If you subscribe, payments are handled by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer reference and subscription status. We never see or store your full card details.

Usage data. Which pages and features are used, so we can improve the product. Our analytics run without tracking cookies (see "Cookies" below).

Technical data. Server logs with your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, used for security and debugging.

How we use it

• To provide the service: building your profile, drafting answers for the programs you choose, and tracking your applications.
• To draft answers with AI: the relevant parts of your profile are sent to our AI provider to generate drafts. They are used to produce your answers, not to advertise to you.
• To send account emails, such as email verification and password resets.
• To process payments and manage subscriptions.
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
• To understand how the product is used and improve it.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your startup profile to advertise to you.

Who processes data for us

We use these providers to run Applyseed. Each processes data only to provide its service to us:

• Google Cloud — hosting, file storage, and AI drafting (Vertex AI).
• Supabase — our database.
• Stripe — payments and subscriptions.
• PostHog — product analytics.
• Emailit — transactional email.

Some of these providers process data outside your country, including in the United States.

Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies: one to keep you signed in and one to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. Our analytics are configured not to set cookies — they keep data in memory for the current page only. We don't use advertising cookies.

How long we keep data

We keep your account and profile data while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings; this permanently deletes your account and your startup profiles. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security. Billing records may be kept longer where the law requires it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict how we process it. Many of these you can do yourself in your account. For anything else, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Children

Applyseed is for founders and is not intended for anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top and, where appropriate, tell you by email.
